Clip Studio Paint works with both Windows Ink and WinTab. If pressure is not working, try matching the API setting in both Wacom Tablet Properties and CSP preferences.
Quick setup
Configure Wacom in Clip Studio Paint
- 1
Choose a tablet API in CSP
In Clip Studio Paint: File (or Clip Studio Paint on Mac) → Preferences → Tablet. Select Wintab or Tablet PC (Windows Ink).
- 2
Match in Wacom Tablet Properties
If you chose Wintab in CSP: uncheck Windows Ink in Wacom Tablet Properties.
If you chose Tablet PC: check Windows Ink in Wacom Tablet Properties. - 3
Restart Clip Studio Paint
Close and reopen CSP for the change to take effect.
- 4
Test pressure
Open a new canvas, select a brush with pressure sensitivity, and draw a stroke. The stroke should vary in width/opacity with pen pressure.
Pressure settings
Adjust pressure sensitivity in CSP
CSP has its own pressure curve settings per tool. To adjust:
- Select a tool (e.g. G-Pen)
- In the Tool Properties panel, find Brush Size → click the small graph icon to open the Input Settings
- The graph shows how pen pressure maps to brush size. Drag the curve for your preferred feel
- You can set separate pressure curves for Size, Opacity, and other brush parameters

Clip Studio Paint questions
CSP pressure worked, then stopped after a CSP update
CSP updates sometimes reset the tablet API setting. Go to File → Preferences → Tablet and reselect your preferred API (Wintab or Tablet PC). Restart CSP.
Which API is better for CSP — Wintab or Tablet PC?
Both work well in CSP. Many artists prefer Wintab for slightly lower latency. If you use Photoshop (which needs Windows Ink ON) alongside CSP, using Tablet PC in CSP lets you keep Windows Ink enabled system-wide.
Stabiliser makes CSP strokes feel delayed
Stabilisation adds intentional input delay to smooth strokes. Reduce or disable: Tool Properties → Stabilization → set to 0 or Off. CSP has multiple stabilisation types — try different modes if you want smoothing with less lag.
